Happy 2025!!
Thankfully, what’s on “trend” this year is all about whole body wellness. I love it, because while I was writing down my own goals and what needed prioritization, I discovered that I needed whole body wellness.
I’m talking mental health, physical health and spiritual health!
Bring it ALL on!!
I did some research on what the top wellness trends for 2025, and they are definitely aligned with what I’m wanting to focus on for 2025, myself.
Yay!
Here’s a list of what I found that showed up on multiple searches:
- Gut health. I’ve been looking more into this over the past year. Gut health is just as important as brain health. It’s often called “the second brain”. Along with pre- and probiotics, there’s something called post-biotics. Haven’t heard of that? I hadn’t, either, until recently. You can do your own research, but here’s an overview I found for you. I’ve, recently, started taking post-biotics and have noticed a difference after just a few days!
- Exercise. Mainly strength training and Pilates. Let’s face it…we’re not getting any younger (well, at least I’m not). Strength and mobility are key to ensure we will be able to MOVE as we age. I let this fall to the wayside last year. And I’m not doing that again! 💪
- Meditation. The trend I saw is VR meditation. I didn’t do too much digging about this type of meditation. But it may help those that find it difficult to be still/present for meditation. I know many find they can’t “quiet their mind”, but that’s not really the goal of meditating. It’s to be still. The mind’s job is to think. However, as you practice meditating it becomes easier to notice your thoughts and let them move on by. And, when you close your eyes and just be, it’s far easier to be less distracted by the outer world. For me, it’s a gift just to be still for 5, 10, or more, minutes. 🧘🏻♀️ If you give VR meditation a try, let me know how you like it!
- Journaling. This trend fell under the umbrella of mental fitness (along with gratitude practices & brain training). Journaling is a great practice to get thoughts out of your head. Especially if you’re feeling overwhelmed. There’s something powerful by putting pen to paper. Just let the words flow. Don’t judge or make it too complicated. Write and then close the journal. Don’t re-read (at least not right after you’ve written–then all that weight of your thoughts just comes right back…and we don’t want that!).
- Infrared Saunas & Cryotherapy. While I haven’t tried cryotherapy, I LOVE infrared saunas! They’re an excellent way to recover from physical pain and soreness. They also benefit organs and mood/mental health. The sweat is a different sweat than a dry sauna. It’s still A LOT, but if you have trouble breathing in a dry sauna you may find infrared saunas a bit gentler on your system. Here’s a view of the last sauna I went to and a very sweaty selfie!
- Community. People are craving social connection more than ever. After COVID, many people still work from home. And, we may stay in touch superficially, through social media, but not on a soul-level. As humans…we need that soul connection. This is a trend I’m definitely getting on board with this year. This month, I’ve started a coach led book club membership (it’s not too late to join!! Simply click here.). If you decide to join, I’ll invite you to the private FB group where I lead discussion and prompted questions around the chapters. I’ll also be live in the group once a week to further support you.
- Alternative Therapies. Modalities like Reiki, Acupuncture, Breathwork, and Somatic healing are becoming increasingly popular! People are looking for natural healing and alternatives to pills. Our bodies can do such amazing things on their own (think of how it automatically begins to heal when you get a cut on your finger). Why not give a boost to that natural healing with these different modalities? Also, many alternative therapies can be done over Zoom and in the comfort of your own home. Who doesn’t love that!?
So. What do you think? Are any of these trends speaking to you?
What have you started doing for your wellness, so far, this year? I wanna know!
Continuing on the topic of community…I’m working on a new membership where educators can come together to support each other and have my support, as well. I have an educational background in Educational Psychology. So, education is still very much a passion of mine (along with Reiki and coaching)! I have seen a big need, lately, for educator support, and I’m here for it! 📚
That membership should be available in February.
If you’re not an educator but are looking for a community of like-minded people, please tell me what kind of membership you’d like to see! I’d be so grateful!
You can reach out to me at [email protected].
I’d love to hear what your goals are for the year, what memberships you’d love to be a part of, and any questions you may have about Reiki or my coaching. 💖
You can refer to my Work with Me page for more information on what I offer.
