Glow-up Redefined

Maybe it’s my age, but I’ve never been a fan of the term “glow-up”.  But it does mean to transform into a “better” version of yourself.  Which I’m all about helping women become the best versions of themselves.

Inside and out.

I’d like to use this post as a way to share how you can transform and thrive from the inside out.  Not just focusing on outside appearance (while I think that’s important, too, as it can be a reverse-psychology way of feeling good).

Lately, I’ve been seeing more and more women leaning into more holistic ways of taking care of themselves.  Whether it’s how to get a better night’s sleep, relief from aches and pains, or help with gut health (I can recommend a great product for that, by the way, that I’ve recently been using. Nu Biome).

There are also some trends of trading skin care products for more holistic self-care routines.

As a woman over 50 I can appreciate (and use) skin care products that help reduce fine lines, age spots, as well as firm the skin and be more vibrant.

But there are more ways to get that vibrant looking appearance so you can shine from the inside out!  Naturally!

As a Mind-Body Energy Coach, I’ve seen firsthand how powerful that inner glow can be. It’s the kind of beauty that doesn’t smudge, fade, or get washed off at night. It’s magnetic, real, and deeply healing.

Many of the women I work with come to me feeling exhausted, unmotivated, and disconnected from their own bodies. No amount of moisturizer can fix burnout. But energy work? That’s a different story.

Everything is energy—including you!

When your energy is scattered, depleted, or tangled up in stress, it shows up in your body, your mind, and even your skin. But when your energy is grounded and flowing? That’s when you glow.

So, it’s important to keep your energetic field aligned and in high vibration.

How do you do this?

One way to raise your energy, or vibration, is to change the way you show up.

What does this mean?

Show up as the person you want to BE.

We’re human BE-ings after all.  Not human DO-ings.

Through practices like Reiki, mindset shifts, and intentional self-care, I help women restore their energy field so they can shine in every area of their life—not just in the mirror.

Are you ready to glow from the inside out? Try these three simple practices:

  1. Morning Grounding Ritual:
    Start your day with 2 minutes of deep breathing, placing one hand on your heart and one on your belly. Visualize golden light filling your body. Ask yourself who you want to be?  How would it feel to show up as your whole self with ease and joy?  Really feel how that would feel!

  2. Energy-Infused Skincare:
    While cleansing or moisturizing, silently repeat an affirmation like “I am worthy. I am radiant. I am enough.” It’s not just skincare—it’s self-love in action.

  3. Evening Energy Cleanse:
    Before bed, imagine cutting energetic cords from your day. Inhale calm, exhale stress. If you have a selenite wand, use that to clear your energy from the day.  With broad strokes, move the wand from the top of your head to your feet on all sides of your body.

The most beautiful women I know aren’t flawless—they’re fully themselves. They’ve done the work to feel aligned, whole, and alive.

“Glow up” is a Frequency

When you care for your energy, your glow is inevitable.

Keeping your energy high, keeps your vibrational frequency high, which allows you to be a match for all the goodness in the world.

Here’s an emotional frequency chart for reference…so you can see how different emotions fall along the energetic frequencies (Hz).

Emotions above 200 are generally seen as life-affirming and strengthening. Those below 200 are viewed as life-draining and weakening.

If you notice your state of being to be less than 200 Hz on this chart, check in to see how you can raise your state of being, and therefore, raise your energetic vibration.

That’s the glow-up I want for you.
